I am writing to inform everyone of some exciting SPH Finance and Administration staffing changes.

Space Planning and Operations

I am pleased to announce that Kathy Santos has been promoted to Assistant Director of Operations and Project Management and has added space planning and management to her responsibilities.

Kathy will report to Andrea Capotosto, whose responsibilities now include oversight and management of operations and space. Andrea’s new title will be Senior Director of Finance, Operations, and Analysis.

Many of you have already noticed Kathy and Andrea’s increasing involvement in space decisions and all of the hard work going into our future planning, so I am pleased to announce this formal change. Their responsibilities will include managing the moves this winter, continual office and space modifications, participating in long-term planning projects, and maintaining our space data to inform the use of space and needs for upcoming hires.

Finance

Johannes Toensing has received a well-deserved promotion to Lead Financial Analyst. In addition to developing and delivering monthly department and center financial packages, Johannes continues to expand the school's portfolio of data-driven analytics in numerous functional areas.

Finance and Administration also welcome a new Financial Analyst, Kara Hebert, beginning Oct 16th. Kara has been part of the Brown family since 2018, most recently at the Institute for Molecular and Nanoscale Innovation, where she was responsible for multiple core service facilities. Kara brings expertise in both finance and operations and has a BS from UMass Amherst.
